For Parties, Weddings, ReceptionsACCORDION FAQS
I am often asked how my accordion works. The accordion is considered to be a wind instrument
Dan’s mother was an accomplished pianist, and she enrolled him for lessons when he was 8 years old, but he wasn’t interested and gave it up. In high school, he played trombone in the band and began to learn guitar. While a student at Harvard, he started practicing the piano daily. but when he moved to San Francisco in the 1970s without a piano, he bought a small golden accordion and assiduously taught himself to play. Teaming up with a guitar and a fiddle player, he played and wrote country western songs and performed on the streets. After moving to Marin County, Dan joined Bread and Roses as a volunteer musician, bringing live music to people in institutional settings. During those five years, he began working as a strolling accordion player and developed a repertoire of accordion favorites to enhance the ambiance at public and private venues.
